1949 Kodak 35 Rangefinder
The Kodak 35 RF was Kodak's first attempt to market their business concept of affordable quality snap-shot cameras to the working classes, however with a price tag of $48 in 1949 it was far from cheap and did not receive high market acceptance. The quirky look with a cog wheel to adjust focus, was a result of Kodak wanting to rapidly introduce a rangefinder camera to compete with Argus, but not wanting to scrap their current production run of Kodak 35's, so they came up with a simple retrofit option.
